SUBIOS, the Seychelles Festival of the Sea will once more make its come back to the Seychelles Islands, between 4 and 6 November at the popular beachfront of Beau Vallon.
SUBIOS has long been a popular forum for highlighting and celebrating Seychelles’ mesmerizing marine heritage through an array of marine-oriented activities, presentations, film-shows, school projects and, of course, the underwater image & film competitions.
This year’s edition of the Seychelles Festival of the Sea will be held under the banner of Wonders beneath the waves.
Building on the excellent foundation that has developed over more than 20 years, this year’s SUBIOS has expanded its raft of activities to become ‘Seychelles’ Festival of the Sea.’ The festival is retaining certain traditional elements such as the popular underwater Film & Image Competition while embracing several new concepts.
The three-days of festivities will for the first time see a floating stage that will host the opening and closing ceremonies, prize giving ceremonies and musical performances. This year’s entertainment includes live music shows from various local artists and international singer Lima Calbio, as well as performances from international DJ Juciy M and professional Seychellois-born DJ Antonius throughout the event.
A wide-range of food-stalls will conveniently be on-hand during the three-days of activities, including a special Seafood Fiesta evening at the Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort & Casino Seychelles on Saturday, October 5.
There will also be the SUBIOS Virtual Treasure Hunt and the SUBIOS Man & Woman competition, which will take place on Saturday, October 5. On the same day, we will have the opening of the NCC children’s village, which will roll into the Family Fun Beach Extravaganza on Sunday, October 6.
’Seychelles’ Festival of the Sea’ will take place alongside the Round Table Seychelles’ Regatta with both events promising to be a real crowd-puller for Seychellois and visitors alike.
